Electronic Arts se face iar de râsul presei

Se tot zice că nu există "publicitate negativă", dar unii publisheri par să facă tot ce le stă în putere pentru a demonstra contrarul. Aşa a fost cazul lui Electronic Arts zilele trecute, când au anulat invitaţia unui site de gaming din Spania la un eveniment Command & Conquer 3, din cauză că vorbiseră de rău jocul FIFA 07 (cine nu a făcut-o?!). Se pare că scandalul a căpătat mult prea multă atenţie la nivel global (mulţumită unor site-uri gen Kotaku), pentru că în ziua imediat următoare, EA şi-au cerut scuze pentru mail-ul lor anterior - care a fost publicat în întregime pe Merodeando. Iată ce spuneau iniţial:

"As you understand, there are many gaming websites that would like to collaborate with us, and we have to give priority to those which, in our modest understanding, treat us better.

It is not feasible for us to engage in fluid communications with you given articles of this type, and accordingly your invitation to visit our offices to see Command and Conquer 3 is canceled.

If you agree, we should let time pass, and we'll see how things evolve and see if it's feasible to send you materials and invite you to this type of event.

Salutations"

Textul original în spaniolă a fost catalogat a fi la fel de ne-diplomatic şi prost scris, pe când scuzele ulterioare au fost redactate cu siguranţă de către un reprezentant EA mai bine plasat în firmă, sau cel puţin mai bine instruit în arta PR-ului:

"A person from EA's Management (Note: They could also mean PR) contacted us this morning to apologize for the email we got, and to try to settle things with us. We've accepted the apology and we'll be meeting with them shortly to figure out a way to keep a normal business relationship, just like we do with other companies. They're man enough (Note: so to speak) to admit their mistakes, and we think it's only fair to let our readers know about it."

Când se vor învăţa minte publisherii că se confruntă cu prea mulţi jurnalişti (vorba vine) care nu dau doi bani pe "politică", şi să înceteze să mai şantajeze presa pentru a obţine relatări pozitive? Pentru că asta fac, la urma urmelor.

Şi se mai miră pe urmă că marca EA e tot mai şifonată.
