World of Warcraft - download patch v2.0.1 // UPDATE #3

Înaintea furtunii care se va dezlănţui luna viitoare cu Burning Crusade, Blizzard mai aplică un ultim update major pentru World of Warcraft, aducându-l la versiunea 2.0.1. Deşi are peste 480 MB, acesta e doar un patch incremental de la versiunea anterioară 1.12.0 sau 1.12.1, ca să nu mai spun că are o procedură de instalare neobişnuit de complicată, detaliată în fişierul Readme.txt inclus (şi în descrierea locală a patch-ului). Doar versiunea US/AU e disponibilă momentan, dar vom actualiza această ştire odată ce vom pune mâna pe versiunea europeană a patch-ului v2.0.1 (zis şi "Before the Storm").

Până atunci, dacă ai ce face cu el, patch-ul WoW v2.0.1 (US) poate fi download-at local, şi mai avem încă patch-ul v1.12.0 full (EU şi US), în caz că ai nevoie de el înainte să treci la v2.0.1. Ca de obicei, site-ul World of Warcraft conţine toate detaliile despre patch, precum şi următorul rezumat:

"The biggest storms are often preceded by a sudden calm, as if the whole world stands still for a moment while the winds gather all their strength. This patch includes many important changes and improvements leading up to the release of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, including the new PvP Honor and Arena systems. Prove your worth on the Battlegrounds and earn new, powerful PvP Honor rewards, or take the ultimate test of your team PvP skills in the new Arena System. Also, you can already learn the new class talents that will help you brave the many challenges awaiting you in Outland and beyond.

There are many new, groundbreaking features to be found in this patch, but always remember: this is nothing but the calm... before the storm."

A fost introdus un nou Looking For Group tool de care să te foloseşti în căutarea unor tovarăşi de dungeon sau de quest, un nou sistem PvP Honor (toate rangurile au fost resetate), un nou sistem PvP Arena (lupte amicale, ranking doar după ce apare The Burning Crusade), noi talente şi multe altele.

Nu în ultimul rând, bagă de seamă că toate addon-urile de interfaţă vor fi dezactivate după aplicarea acestui patch, şi s-ar putea sa treacă ceva vreme până când fiecare autor va catadicsi să îşi actualizeze mod-ul de interfaţă. Dacă se vor deranja defel. Blizzard zice cam aşa:

"WoW 2.0 represents a major change in the UI code, and as such ALL AddOns will need to be updated before they will work, if for no other reason than the Lua 5.0 to Lua 5.1 changes. Some AddOns will be more seriously affected, and a few will have to be redesigned."

WoW Insider au nişte sfaturi despre cum să depăşeşti această "apocalipsă a addon-urilor". Baftă!

UPDATE: Iaca, WoW patch v2.0.1 pentru Europa, de asemenea incrementând versiunea anterioară 1.12.0 sau 1.12.1. Şi "niţel" mai mare decât varianta US, având peste 670 MB! [06.12.2006, 18:51]

UPDATE #2: Ca să-l citez pe frate-meu, "Blizz f*cked up the patch". Cel puţin în Europa, serverele sunt varză (nici un NPC în Kalimdor?!), şi cam închise. GG!

UPDATE #3: Criza s-a terminat, se pare, cu bine.
