Noul E3, fostul 'GamePro Expo', de acum 'E for All Expo'

Entertainment for All Expo... E for All... E4... mda, parcă sună mai bine decât "GamePro Expo", titlul sugerat anul trecut de IDG pentru expoziţia ce va lua locul E3-ului de odinioară. Deşi eu unul cred că "Booth Babes for All" ar fi fost totuşi un nume mult mai atractiv. Orişicum, e oficial, şi e cam bătut în cuie: zilele trecute, International Data Group (IDG) a anunţat că numele oficial al noii sale expoziţii va fi "Entertainment for All Expo" - sau "E for All Expo" - şi a confirmat că aceasta se va desfăşura în perioada 18-20 octombrie 2007, la Convention Center-ul din Los Angeles.

Noul nume a fost ales dintre peste 3000 propuneri făcute pe site-ul GamePro.com, iar numele câştigător a fost propus de un oarecare individ Dante Padre din California. Întrebat fiind ce l-a inspirat să aleagă acest nume, baciu' Padre a zis:

"This show seems to be about inviting everyone to participate; they even asked gamers to create the name. Unlike other industry-only events, this show is for everyone. Now everyone will have the opportunity to experience the excitement, the entertainment, and the early look at the industry that's only been available to insiders before."

Evident, IDG au născocit şi ei numaidecât o explicaţie perfectă pentru numele "E for All":

"The new name highlights the show's focus on entertainment and its openness and accessibility to the public. Building on momentum and pent-up demand that has grown within the consumer audience for all things related to computer and video games, event organizers anticipate its mid-October dates will launch an early holiday shopping season for the industry. The new name also reflects the cross-pollinization between traditional and digital entertainment - the reason behind establishing the show in Los Angeles, the entertainment capital of the world."

Noul website al show-ului este EforAllExpo.com, care îşi informează vizitatorii că "înregistrările pentru eveniment vor începe din primăvara lui 2007".

Să nu cumva să uit să-mi iau concediu în octombrie, că nu ştiu dacă mă mai ţine bibilica pentru încă un E3 E4.
