Race Driver: Create & Race anunţat pe DS

Seria Race Driver a luat o întorsătură interesantă azi, când Codemasters au anunţat prima adiţie pe consola handheld Nintendo DS, numită Race Driver: Create & Race. De parcă treaba în sine n-ar fi fost destul de interesantă, britanicii spun că jocul va diferi radical de titlurile anterioare din serie, prin faptul că va permite jucătorilor să îşi creeze propriile circuite cu ajutorul unui "track construction kit", cu oricâte şicane şi curbe vor pofti, pe care apoi să se întreacă în multiplayer.

Programat pentru lansare în vara lui 2007, Race Driver: Create & Race se află momentan în lucru la studioul britanic Firebrand Games, auto-proclamaţi "specialişti în jocurile de curse handheld" (nu, nici noi n-am auzit de ei). Jocul va include 32 de circuite reale şi 25 de maşini cu licenţă, precum Koenig GT, AMG Mercedes C Klasse DTM, sau Chevrolet Silverado Truck.

"Using the Nintendo DS stylus, the game's track editor lets players select and place race track elements, such as hairpin corners, long straights and chicanes, to design unique circuits. Once all the pieces are placed to perfection, players can take to their track and experience exactly what it's like in aggressive multiple car races.

Making use of the Nintendo DS Wi-Fi connection capabilities, players can challenge others to races on the game's official tracks as well as the circuits of their creation. Race Driver: Create & Race also enables up to four players to go head-to-head in races gamesharing from only one cartridge. Further championships and cars can be unlocked from the World Tour Mode and then raced in realtime online and ad hoc multiplayer modes."

N-ar strica să includă un editor de trasee şi în viitoarele iteraţii din serie pe PC / PS3 / Xbox 360.
