MMO spaţial anunţat de veterani WoW, EVE, EverQuest

Dacă ar fi să faci o listă de MMORPG-uri cu cel mai mare succes comercial, jocurile spaţiale / S.F. - gen EVE Online, foarte apreciat de critici - probabil că ar apărea undeva la urmă. Şi totuşi, nu îmi pot stăpâni entuziasmul pentru un nou proiect de MMO spaţial, aflat momentan în lucru la Colony Studios. Motivul fiind acela că miezul trupei producătoare a compus din veterani ai industriei care au lucrat la titluri mari precum World of Warcraft, Lord of the Rings Online, City of Heroes, EverQuest, Dark Age of Camelot, Ultima Online şi, da, preamăritul EVE Online. Deci tipii au ceva experienţă într-ale succesului comercial.

Chiar dacă nu au spus cum se va numi MMO-ul lor spaţial, aceştia au totuşi în minte un termen de vag de apariţie - final de 2009 - şi o grămadă de idei de gameplay. Despre unele dintre acestea sunt deja pregătiţi să discute, după cum atestă acest interviu cu RPG Vault:

"Our IP will be centered on a dynamic living "world" far more than a linear storyline that hinders replayability. We will provide a ton of history and backstory in the game, but the players will consistently influence the content. The important differentiator is this - players will log in and react to what's been happening in the game, not log in and get the same exact experience they had the last time they played. Our game is dynamic, so you'd better keep up with it."

Interviul dezvăluie şi că cei de la Colony Studios au obţinut impresionantul Hero Engine de la Simutronics, fiind cât se poate de încântaţi de el până acum:

"[Hero Engine] has been fantastic for us, and in our opinion, supersedes all other MMO middleware solutions on the market, both in terms of render power and server flexibility. We want big battles... REALLY big battles for both PvE and PvP, and right now, this package will deliver them."

Aşteptăm cu interes să aflăm - şi să vedem mai multe din MMO-ul de debut al lui Colony Studios.
