Shadowbane ţinut în viaţă de noul studio al veteranilor Wolfpack

O altă veste legată de Ubisoft este formarea unui nou studio (independent) de development, Stray Bullet Games, de către veterani ai recent închisului studio Wolfpack (Ubisoft Annecy) - creatorii lui Shadowbane. Soarta MMORPG-ului lor a rămas incertă de atunci, dar acum fanii pot răsufla uşuraţi, întrucât Ubisoft promite să susţină în continuare jocul. Nu s-a spus nimic nou despre sistemul de plată, aşa încât putem presupune liniştiţi că Shadowbane va rămâne jucabil fără nici o taxă lunară (cel puţin o vreme), aşa cum s-a decis cu puţin timp înainte de închiderea lui Wolfpack la începutul lunii martie.

De menţinerea în viaţă a jocului şi a comunităţii se vor îngriji cei de la Stray Bullet Games, contractaţi de Ubisoft, dar pe moment va fi doar atât: "support", fără nici o vorbă despre eventuale adăugiri sau expansiuni. Desigur, Stray Bullet se vor apuca între timp şi de un proiect al lor - care, conform lui Sean 'Ashen Temper' Dahlberg (angajat Stray Bullet Games şi fost community-manager la Wolfpack), va fi un joc MMO next-generation:

"What will it be? Well, it is much too early to say and it is something we are discussing internally as to what exactly we want to do. I will be blunt and say we will not be doing Shadowbane 2. The publishing and intellectual rights are not owned by Stray Bullet Games and we will, more than likely, make an original title. With that said, we plan on doing what we do best so it wouldn't be unthought-of to expect player-vs.-player and strategic combat. And while the implementation and specifics may differ, the aspects I talk about in my (crazy) sandbox idea Dominion, such as an in-depth political system, territorial and economic control systems, and character building with meaning are echoed by everyone at Stray Bullet Games."
